Carnival

Carnival on the border is one of the most fun in the country. It takes place in the public thoroughfare and is attended by over 20 thousand people, among them people from Rivera, Paysandú and tourists. They accompany the multicultural program which goes on the main streets in the city with floats, samba schools and local comparsas (a group of singers and dancers). In the neighborhoods there are small stages set up which are filled by performing groups and the public.
