Gurvich Museum

The museum dedicated to another of the great masters of Uruguayan painting was inaugurated October 14, 2005 and arose as the artist’s family wished to share his creations. Location: 522-524 Sarandí pedestrianized street, between Ituzaingó and Triente y Tres.

Blanes Museum

Blanes Museum

Juan Manuel Blanes is a painter of great Uruguayan historical scenes, and his museum, located in Prado, deserves a visit. Here you can find important works of art by this artist, as well as exhibitions of other painters. An interesting feature behind this museum is the gardens, where there is a delicate Japanese garden which is worth a visit. Location: 4015 Millán Avenida.

National Museum of Visual Arts

In this museum the visitor can enjoy a good overview of Uruguayan artistic work. In addition to having classical works of art by renowned representatives, there are also pieces by contemporary artists. The museum tends to exhibit interesting touring exhibitions. Address: Av. The Andes Museum

The Andes Museum

This space is dedicated to the victims and survivors of the tragic plane crash that happened in the Andes mountain range in 1972. They were found after spending 72 days in the snow and their story was known worldwide and even taken to the cinema. Address: 619 Rincón, Telephone: 2916 9461.

Carnival Museum

The Museo del Carnaval (Carnival Museum) is one of the attractions in Cuidad Vieja (Old City). It is located next to the Mercado del Puerto (Port Market) and has a permanent exhibition of costumes and instruments used in this popular celebration.
