Parque Nacional de Santa Teresa (Rocha)- Santa Teresa National Park

Parque Nacional de Santa Teresa (Rocha)- Santa Teresa National Park

It is one of the most complete spaces that Rocha has to offer. This national park has a beautiful beach, a fortress from the colonial times has been maintained in perfect conditions and it is possible to visit it. There is a park with an animal reservation a children’s play area and a large campsite with all the services. This makes it a perfect place for families to visit, even though it is very popular with the youth in the summer. In additional to all of this you can visit the Verde hill (a gentle hill located in front of the coast where you can see fossil remains, migratory birds, whales, sea lions and sea turtles). Also, in front of the park is Potrerillo biological station of Santa Teresa, a perfect place for bird watching. The Parque Nacional de Santa Teresa is accessed from kilometer 302 of route 9.

Parque Rodó (Montevideo)

Parque Rodó (Montevideo)

This is the most traditional funfair in the city. On the promenade and Sarmiento- in front of Ramírez beach- is an extensive area of games orientated to a young public that includes a roller coaster, a Ferris wheel and the most iconic of the games, called the Gusano Loco (crazy worm) which is almost a character in the city. The younger children have their own space some 300 meters from there, at the intersection of 21 de Setiembre and Bulevar Artigas, where you can find carrousels, bumper cars and games more appropriate for younger children.
