Canelones

Atlántida

Atlántida

Atlántida combines beaches and an active nightlife with nature walks and the option of rural tourism. On its coast it has two very different beaches. One is for the whole family, calm waters for greater safety for children and another, more open, with better conditions for those who love waves. In the summer you can rent equipment to do different sports. In the night in the center of this resort you can spend some time in the casino, go to one of the wide variety of places to eat, have a drink or go dancing. In the high season new things are offered in addition to those which happen throughout the year.
Two kilometers from the center of Atlántida, in Villa Argentina, you can find the most emblematic construction of the area. El Águila, a stone building in front of the sea and owner of innumerable stories. Some claim that it was a smugglers hideout. Others are assured that there was an alchemist’s laboratory. There is also a legend that it was a Nazi refuge in the Second World War. However, what is certain is that it is an architectural craftwork (that lacks blueprints) which has become a symbol of the resort. Location: You can get to El Águlia from the streets inside Atlántida and Villa Argentina or from the Interbalaneria route from kilometer 43.

La Floresta

La Floresta

La Floresta is one of the best destinations for the family on the Canelones coast. This resort is noted for its tranquility and days on the beach. However, in this place a party is celebrated which has become a classic of the summer: la Noche Blanca (the White Night). It happens in January and different artistic expressions turn the streets into open exhibition full of music, color, shows and crafts. Location: Interbalnearia Route, km 54.
