The Uruguayan coast is as extensive as it is diverse. Nature, family environment, views and adrenaline, everything comes together to give you unique experiences. On small secluded beaches surrounded by nature, or on rough coasts ideal for practicing aquatic sports, people with the most diverse tastes can find what they are looking for and more. Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, center of business, events and culture, has extremely enjoyable beaches for the family. Piriápolis is another enchanting beach to discover with its European style promenade as one of its main attractions. Punta del Este is an unmissable stop for lovers of a good quality of life, a variety of services, new trends, design and good taste. Cabo Polonio is an example of the wonders that can be found on the Atlantic Ocean coasts.Other beaches such as La Paloma or Punta del Diablo are places that surfers must not miss. After sunset is the time to plan the night. Go to eat in a restaurant, to the movies or to a concert or simply stay contemplating how the sky seems to get bluer and bluer and the stars begin to illuminate everything.

Punta del Diablo has two faces. One is peaceful, austere and almost among friends. This fase can be seen throughout most of the year in this fishing town that due to the enchantment of its beaches has started to become one of the favorite places on the Uruguayan coast. The other side is seen little, only during the months of the high season (January and February), but it leaves its mark. This is the side of summer giddiness, marked by endless nights and the spirit of joy of the eternal party. 
Cabo Polonio

Cabo Polonio seems to be from another planet. It is jetty of land which goes into the sea leaving behind it a dessert-like landscape. This marvelous combination of oceanic impetus, a sea of sand and a peaceful atmosphere knit together forming the personality of this bohemian destination. The days can be spent enjoying its two beaches, with the imperceptible movement of the dunes and the presence of the sea lions, which frolic on the coasts and on the nearby islets.
La Pedrera

La Pedrera

This peaceful resort located almost 10 kilometers from La Paloma has become one of the big stars of the Uruguayan coast. The main plan in this destination is to go to the beach, and along these lines there are two to choose from: the Barco (in the west) and Desplayado (in the east). La Pedrera has two high points in the season. One of them coincides with the first two weeks of January, and the second with carnival. The last, perhaps, is the most popular one of the resort.
La Paloma

La Paloma

This resort is perfect for the family, as during the summer there are activities for children on the main street. It also has a great variety of restaurants. When it is time to pick a beach the one called los Botes is a favorite. The artisanal fishermen arrive here and they tend to sell fish steaks prepared in the moment. Other popular beaches are La Balconada and La del Faro.

This old resort has become the expression of chic on the Uruguayan coast. However, despite this it has not betrayed its essence. The combination of old summer houses with avant-garde constructions manages to synthesize that harmony between the glamorous present and the calm atmosphere that has always been in this place. The sleepy throne of the holidaymakers who visit this town is the sand, especially that which covers Brava beach.
Bikini Beach and Manantiales

Manantiales is synonymous with Bikini, the most famous and lively beach in Maldonado. On its sands are young people, even though families also enjoy it, especially because there is never a lack of activities in its beach restaurant. Manantiales, only consists of a few blocks, but on them are good restaurants and very cool places for fast food. At night the party is perpetual.

It is one of the most popular beaches in Punta del Este and although the public is varied it is predominately young. It is, however, a very extensive beach and there is no difficulty in avoiding the crowds. It is also a frequent stage of surfing competitions. Ruta 10, km 161, La Barra.

Taking photos of the fingers in Brava beach is a classic, one that should not be overlooked. This sculpture was created in the 1980s by the Chilean artista Mario Irrazábal. Even though it is popularly known as “the fingers”, its author actually called the piece La mano – the hand. The artist made similar pieces in Madrid and in the Chilean desert close to Antogagasta. This sculpture is an attraction point for tourists.
Solanas

Solanas is one of the areas with the calmest waters in Maldonado. That is why it has become an ideal place to go with children. Otherwise, it is one of the most traditional beaches and has a range of services that allows holidaymakers who arrive to this area practically not move from it. 
Punta Colorada

This resort is a pleasure to behold and an inexhaustible source of beautiful views. This is largely due to the height of the resort in the middle of it – on the Central Street- and the other is the perfect combination of rock and sea (technically it is still the Río de la Plata –the River Plate- that hits its shores). The sand on its beaches is thick, the public mainly families, and in the summer it is a well visited spot.
Piriápolis

The beauty of this place comes from the different landscapes, as in Piriápolis the hills and the coast coexist in perfect harmony, with a 7 kilometer promenade. It is a trip for families that is a must for visitors, as is the harbor, which was built with rocks extracted from San Antonia hill. The chairlift allows the brave to have an incredible panoramic view of the Piriápolis bay.

 This destination invites you to rest. However, it not only offers a beautiful beach but also a large number of cultural and architectural attractions. In addition to this, there are several nature walks a few minutes from the center. 

Atlántida

In the high season new things are offered inaddition to those which happen throughout the year..
El Pinar

Where the Pando stream and the Rio de la Plata meet, you can find this beautiful resort on the Canelones coast. It has extensive beaches and the possibility of doing aquatic sports near the stream. It is a destination for families, a few minutes from Montevideo, which also offers an interesting gastronomic proposal.

The classic view of the promenade in Montevideo usually includes the sands of Pocitos beach. It is a large bay that extends from the tip of Trouville to the area of Kibon, which tends to be more popular with families, although on the eastern part (where there is a sports stadium on the sand) young people gather.n.

This resort has been a well kept secret amongst locals for a long time, but with time tourists, especially Argentineans, have discovered its peaceful sands and the calm that reigns in this place. There is also the possibility of staying here. However, as it is very close to the city of Colonia it is common to come for the day.  (Route 1 at kilometer 155).
